Examples: Make a research project of it that takes you months instead of just a few days or weeks. • Try to relax before writing your first draft by taking some time out to unwind. • Keep track of all the things that have helped you overcome writer’s block in the past so that they can be used again if needed later on. For example, listening to music could have been a good way to overcome writer’s block in the past, so it can be a good thing to do again if you are struggling again. 3) Recognise that if you cannot overcome writer’s block on your own, there is no shame in seeking help from your doctor. Examples: If you have been getting fewer and fewer hours of sleep each night and have been severely stressed at work, it isn’t surprising if one day you will find it difficult to do any work at all. A doctor can tell you if your problem is based on mental health or depression issues, and provide you with the proper medication or other treatments if needed. If you have been suffering from writer’s block for an extended period of time, it can be a good idea to see a doctor in order to get the appropriate help. 4) Change up your writing environment. Examples: This can mean anything from getting out of the house and going to a coffee shop, library or your school’s computer lab in order to find a change in location that will help you overcome writer’s block. If there is nothing else that works and you can’t go somewhere else, try changing what you are writing about. Maybe if what you are doing isn’t working out it is because the topic isn't correct for the assignment. cfa1e77820
