This is a Tagalog version of Dream High. In this cover, the protagonist will be the first-year student, Kikyo. In this fairytale, she will work as a housemaid for five months before being discovered by the owner of an ice cream shop and joining her husband's family business as a waitress or chef. She would also join her favorite popular girl Yoon-soo's fan club and become friends with her other popular friend Choi Sam-soon. Her first love is Kang-in who eventually reciprocates her feelings. Later on she will also start working for Andong Highschool as a teacher's aide. Later on, her best friends are Yoon-soo, Choi Sam-soon, and Andong Highschool student Jung Sun-il. They will compete together to win the "Top Student Award" at their school's cultural festival. They will also compete as a girl group during the school's sports festival but will end up disbanding. She will also join their Band as a vocalist and dancer. The main character of the cover version also shares the same name as the main character in the original Japanese version: Kikyo Takeshima. The English and Japanese versions of this cover do not share any similarities aside from sharing a common title, although both versions follow Sato's original concept closely. This 2013 Philippine TV series is adapted from Dream High by Jami Sato, which was first adapted into an anime in 2012. It aired on GMA Network starting March 19, 2013 and ran for 52 episodes until August 17, 2013. Julie Anne San Jose and KZ Tandingan starred as Kikyo and Andong Visuals (band-leader and vocalist) respectively, while main role in Dream High Original, Taecyeon of 2PM, was replaced by Mark Neumann. Mark Neumann originally auditioned for the role of James Bontognali but he failed to get the part. Instead, the production team gave him a new character who is originally intended to appear late in the show; he is Sunil "Jung Sun" Santos.Neumann describes his character's background as "he's a transfer student from Thailand so he doesn't really speak good Tagalog". Christopher Roxas auditioned for the role of Sunil "Jung" Santos, but due to the fact that he was not fluent in Tagalog, he quickly dropped out. Soon he was given the role of Marvin Ramirez after another candidate backed out of the audition. Christopher has described Marvin as "laid-back but can get serious when he needs to". A second season of the Philippine adaptation of Dream High (season 2) is under development and pre-production stage. Cast members Julie Anne San Jose, Mark Neumann and Christopher Roxas are set to reprise their respective roles; while Julie Anne San Jose has released a video via her official YouTube channel regarding this on March 20, 2014. cfa1e77820
